My Rating
I thought I would speed through this book, I mean it had things I love and are fascinated by: European history, Knights Templar, mystery, suspense. Unfortunately, it took me forever to get into it so it actually took me 2 weeks just to get 50% into the book.
After the halfway mark I did become more engaged with the story and was able to finish the book in an additional 2 days of limited reading time.
The premise is excellent… What if the Knights Templar just went underground when the Pope declared them heretics…
There were some plausible “truths” for some of the religious doctrines and I believe those are worth the time it took to flesh then it for the story.
Recommend?
As religion is a very polarizing subject, those who are very religious or really offended by religious theory outside of the Catholic Church might not want to read this. However those that are interested in possible alternate history regarding the Templars and the church might find this book worth the time it takes then to read it
